1. She grew up in a poor family where her parents struggled financially.
2. Part of her childhood was spent in Uijeongbu in Gyeonggi Province.
3. She began her career by going for auditions to various talent agencies while she was still in middle school.
4. IU got her break in 2007, when she was just 15 years old, after LOEN Entertainment signed her as a trainee and her debut EP Lost and Found was released the same year.
