2. Chino XL was spotted and signed at the age of 16 by music impresario Rick Rubin.
3. In an interview, he has stated that because he was so young at the time, Rick did a lot for him, for instance, Rick used to get him fake ID’s so he could rent cars and many other similar things to make him look older than what he actually was.
4. After the release of his first album, he was released from his contract with Rubin’s  American Recordings label and he signed with Warner Bros. Records in the fall of 1997.
5. He is one of the members of MENSA among the likes of James Woods, Ben Rollins, Alan Rachins, and .
6. He has confessed that he likes to sleep in character printed pajamas such as the Sponge Bob Square Pants pajamas.
