- She spent part of her early years in Augusta, Maine, before moving to New York to pursue her further studies.
- During her childhood years, she found it difficult to keep control of her legs and arms. However, through years of specific dance practice, she finally managed to take control of them. In an interview, Rachel also stated that her mother would often say that she was a late bloomer.
