Fabio Quartararo is a French professional motorcycle racer who took the racing world by storm after winning 6 Spanish championship titles, including consecutive CEV Moto3 titles in 2013 and 2014, all in his teenage years. Fabio Quartararo Facts

  1. He began racing competitively from the age of just 4 in France. To compete at a more professional level, he moved to Spain, a few years later. While there, he used to participate in the Promovelocidad Cup, a series for young riders.
  2. He started gaining attention in his early teens by winning championship titles in the Promovelocidad Cup‘s 50cc class in 2008, 70cc class in 2009, and the 80cc class in 2011. In 2012, he won the Mediterranean pre-Moto3 class title.
  3. He moved into the Moto3 class of the CEV Repsol series in 2013 and in the same season, became the first non-Spanish racer since Stefan Bradl in 2007 to win the title. He also became, at 14 years and 218 days, the series’ youngest ever champion, crushing the record held by Aleix Espargaró.
  4. Despite winning the title in 2013, he had to remain in the CEV Repsol series for the 2014 season as he did not meet the age criterion of 16 years to compete in a Grand Prix (Moto3 or higher) race. He won the championship again, winning 9 out of the 11 races, and his lead over his nearest rival was a staggering 127 points.
  5. In August 2014, the Grand Prix Commission tweaked its age eligibility rules and allowed the champion of the FIM CEV Moto3 championship to compete in the succeeding season of the Moto3 World Championship, irrespective of the racer’s age. The rule change helped Fabio join the Moto3 World Championship in October 2014 at the age of just 15.
  6. He raced for 2 seasons each at the Moto3 and Moto2 tiers and despite not finishing higher than 10th overall in any of the 4 seasons, his obvious talent was noticed and he was offered a season’s contract with Yamaha’s satellite team, Petronas Yamaha SRT, for the 2019 MotoGP season.
  7. He created a record for being the youngest ever polesitter in the MotoGP class when he qualified on pole position for the 2019 Spanish Grand Prix. With this feat, Fabio broke the record that had been held by Marc Márquez since 2013. In the same season, he became the youngest racer to have won consecutive poles in MotoGP history when he qualified on pole position in the races at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and TT Circuit Assen.
