Jessie Reyez is a Canadian singer and songwriter who came into the spotlight with the release of her debut single titled Figures (2016) which was certified as ‘Triple Platinum’ by Music Canada and ‘Platinum’ by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). Her debut EP titled Kiddo (2017) earned her 4 nominations at the 2018 Juno Awards out of which she won the award in the category of ‘Breakthrough Artist’. She released her 2nd EP called Being Human in Public in 2018 and it won the ‘R&B/Soul Recording of the Year’ award at the 2019 Juno Awards. The EP also earned a Grammy Awards nomination, her first, in 2020, in the category of ‘Best Urban Contemporary Album’. Jessie’s debut studio album titled Before Love Came to Kill Us was released in March 2020 and it peaked at number 4 on the US R&B charts, number 13 on the US charts, number 10 on the UK R&B charts, and number 17 on the Canadian charts.
