Pedro de la Rosa Facts

1. As a radio-controlled car driver, he specialized in 1:8 off-road and emerged as the winner of 3 consecutive domestic championship titles between 1983 and 1985.
2. In the year 1988, Pedro de la Rosa started karting at the age of 17 in a local Spanish championship and later joined the Spanish Formula Fiat Uno, becoming champion in 1989.
3. He became champion in the Spanish Formula Ford 1600 in 1990.
4. He raced the Japanese Formula Three series in 1995 and became champion. The following year, Pedro de la Rosa finished 8th in both the Formula Nippon and All Japan GT Championship.
5. With Michael Krumm, he was the All-Japan GT Champion.
6. He raced with Arrows from 1999 to 2000 and debuted in the Australian Grand Prix, finishing 6th.
7. In 2001, he joined Jaguar and raced alongside for 2 years. Afterward, he became a part of McLaren as a test driver but got the chance to race at the 2005 Bahrain Grand Prix when injured his shoulder.
8. Pedro de la Rosa scored his first and only Formula One podium at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix.

10. He returned to McLaren in 2011 as a test and reserve driver.
