Although Shoma has won numerous medals at the senior level, he was no less prolific in his junior career having won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2015 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) Final in the 2014-15 season, the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (2014-15) and the 2014 ISU JGP Croatia.
2. Shoma had also won 4 ‘Gold’ medals at the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships in the ‘Novice’ category – 2 in the ‘Novice A’ (2009-10, 2010-11) tier and 2 in the ‘Novice B’ (2007-08, 2008-09) tier.
3. He had also won the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2012 Youth Olympic Games, the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (2012-13, 2013-14), the 2012 ISU JGP Germany, and the 2014 ISU JGP Japan.
