They took it from Pablo Escobar, who owned a Columbian ranch in the United States, where his connection, Richard Berlie, picked it in California.

Carlos later cut off Jung from his business and went straight to Berlie. However, he went ahead with his smuggling business until he was caught in 1987 and arrested, though he was soon released. After two years since his release, he was arrested again for violation of his parole on 6 December 2016. He was released on 3 July 2017 after completing his jail term.
