Barns Courtney Height, Weight, Age, Body Statistics

Barns Courtney is an English singer, songwriter, and musician who has released the solo studio albums The Attractions of Youth (2017) and 404 (2019); and the EPs The Dull Drums (2017) and It’s Hard To Be Alone (2020). Several of his singles, such as Glitter & Gold (2016), Fire (2016), and 99 (2018), have been certified ‘Gold’ by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA). Before embarking on a solo career, he had served as the lead vocalist for the British indie band Sleeper Cell that had participated in a talent-based reality TV show known as Orange unsignedAct. After the disintegration of the group, he had fronted another indie band called Dive Bella Dive. The band had signed up with Island Records who had dumped him after he had recorded an album’s worth of musical material for them. The incident had forced him to rethink his career and reimagine his journey; as a solo artist.

Barns Courtney Facts

  1. Born in England, Barns had moved to Seattle, Washington, with his family when he was just 4 years old. His family had returned to the United Kingdom by the time he had turned 15. He had revealed in an interview that he had battled the effects of ‘culture shock’ for quite some time as he only had faint memories of England and all of his education until then was from institutions in the United States.
  2. After he was unceremoniously removed from the roster of Island Records, he had reached a critical crossroad in his life. Although he had wanted to continue with a career in music, the rejection had left him shattered. However, with no major educational qualifications to fall back on, he did not have many other choices left. He eventually decided to embark on a solo career and begin by penning several new tracks.
  3. During this time, he used to work at a PC World retail outlet and would often sleep on his friends’ sofas and in their cars.
  4. His first song as a solo artist titled Glitter & Gold (2015), had peaked at number 1 on the UK Spotify Viral Chart, and number 2 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. The song was used in the trailer of the 2016 biographical drama film, The Founder.
  5. His 2017 song titled Kicks was featured in the soundtrack of the racing video game Need for Speed Payback.
  6. Another song of his, Hellfire, was used as the official theme song for Extreme Rules (2017), a WWE network event.
