Brad Binder is a South African professional motorcycle racer who won the Moto3 World Championship title in 2016, in his 5th year at that tier. The performance earned him a promotion to the Moto2 tier, where he turned in consistently strong performances for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, finishing 8th, 3rd, and 2nd over the next 3 years. Brad’s strong showing at the Moto2 World Championship convinced his team to promote him to the premier MotoGP tier with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team for the 2020 season.

Brad Binder Facts

1. He started his racing journey with karts and was a national champion at the age of 8.
2. Before contesting at the Grand Prix level from 2011, Brad had participated in 3 seasons of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where his best performance was a 5th-place finish in the championship standings.
3. His younger brother Darryn is also a professional motorcycle racer and both the siblings competed at the Moto3 World Championship in 2015 and 2016.
4. When he won the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, Brad became just the 3rd South African racer to ever win a motorcycle Grand Prix and the first since Jon Ekerold triumphed at the 1981 Italian Grand Prix (350cc class).
