Born in Downey, California, on 24 August 1970, he was brought up in Apple Valley, California. He was still young when he started wrestling and soon was noticed as a relentless competitor. After joining the high school at Victor Valley High School, he joined the Wrestling team with his brother, Tom, a group that was coached by Sam Gollmyer, while his father, Bill Henderson, was an assistant coach together with Joe Barrios.
