1. David’s parents were both born and brought up in Vietnam. However, they moved to Canada in 1990, just a year before his birth.
2. He was interested in filming and editing from a young age and used to make videos with his high school friends. However, he only began posting videos on his primary YouTube channel after 2009.
3. His parents had wanted him to become a doctor and he had taken up mathematics and science when he was in 11th grade. However, a loss of interest in academics pushed him to try and pursue a career in his primary interest area of video editing. He subsequently stumbled upon the YouTube channel of Juicystar07 which gave him the idea of parodying makeup/beauty gurus and that eventually turned out to be his breakthrough on YouTube.
