She had also played the role of Tiffany Simmons in both Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016) and Boo 2! A Madea Halloween (2017).   1. Diamond’s father had abandoned the family when she was just 7 years old after which she was raised by her mother. They struggled financially for a long time even after Diamond’s very young career had taken off and the mother-daughter duo would often sleep on a couch in a small ‘box apartment’ in Los Angeles.
  2. In 2007, at the age of just 8, she had starred in a Chicago-based theatre production of The Color Purple, a 1982 novel by American author Alice Walker which had won the 1983 ‘Pulitzer Prize for Fiction’, that went on to tour nationally. 3 years later, at the age of 11, she was chosen to play the character of Young Nala in Disney’s The Lion King musical.
  3. When she participated in the 2012 edition of The X Factor, she was being mentored by pop icon . After the first live show, she lost in a sing-off against and had lost out on a place in the ‘Top 12’. However, a week later, she was given a lifeline, getting a wildcard entry into the expanded ‘Top 13’.
