Jeff Leonard Jarrett was born in July 1967 in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and popularly called Jeff Jarrett. The wrestler was trained by Jerry Jarrett, his father, and Tojo Yamamoto. In the Organization of his father, in 1986, he was a referee. At the age of 18, he made his debut in the ring. His father and maternal grandfather were both wrestlers. His grandmother, Christine, has worked with Welch Promotions from Nashville.

Jeff’s a wrestler of the third generation. In 1986, he played with the Continental Wrestling Association of his father Jerry Jarrett as a referee. His dad and Tojo Yamamoto had trained him and made his debut in a game in April 1986. He was fighting for and on the independent circuit for his father’s United States Wrestle Association.

In 1993, Jeff became a member of the Wrestling Federation, wrestling until 1996. He used the nickname “Double J,” a country music artist. From 1996 to 1997, before shifting to WWF from 1997 to 1999, he ran for the World Championships. Then in 1999, he returned to WCW until Vince McMahon fired him live on air in 2001. From 2001 to 2003, he was involved with the World Wrestling All-Stars.

Jeff and his father began Total Nonstop Wrestling in 2002 and founded J Sports and Entertainment. In 2013, he withdrew from TNA Entertainment for the years to come but remained an investee. He continued his work. Since 2004 he has been a member of the Asesoría y Administracion (AAA) Mexican promotion organization. In April 2014, he began Global Force Wrestling.


During his entire career, Jarrett has held 70 championships in different promotions. He has been a 6-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a four-time WCW Heavyweight World Champion, and a two-time AAO World Heavyweight Champion with TNA, and is now an 11th-time World Champion. It’s been a three times USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion and a two-time World Heavyweight Champion for WWA. He has won five more world titles.

Although in his tenure in the WWF, he never won the WWF championship, he contested the title and enjoyed remarkable promotion Championship results, becoming an Intercontinental Champion six times. He is among three men who jointly own the Intercontinental and European Championships. He’s the first wrestler to be a twice Mountain King. Jarrett had 23 overall championships and several other area titles between WWE, GFW and TNA, and AAA, WCW.
