Jeremih (born Jeremy Phillip Felton) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer. He signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings in 2009. Jeremih’s commercial debut single, “Birthday Sex,” reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. This propelled his self-titled debut album to number six on the US Billboard 200 chart in June of that year.

Jeremih worked with record producer Mick Schultz while attending Columbia College Chicago. Jeremih met with Def Jam CEO Russell Simmons and executive vice president of A&R Karen Kwak in February 2009. Jeremih signed a recording deal with Def Jam the same day after playing for the two.

Jeremih released his self-titled debut studio album, Jeremih, in June 2009. In its first week, the album debuted at number 6 on the US Billboard 200, selling 59,000 copies. Jeremih joined Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, and Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em on the America’s Most Wanted Tour to promote the record. “Imma Star (Everywhere We Are),” the second single, reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Jeremih announced in December 2011 that he was working on his third studio album, which was initially titled Thumpy Johnson. He revealed plans for a Def Jam release in the summer of 2012. The album, however, was never released. Instead, on August 7, 2012, Jeremih released his first mix-tape, Late Nights with Jeremih.

“All the Time” was originally featured on Jeremih’s mix-tape Late Nights with Jeremih, but it was re-released as a single with an added verse by rapper Lil Wayne. The album was released as a digital download on April 16, 2013. Jeremih officially released his collaboration EP “No More” with Shlohmo via his Twitter account on July 17, 2014.

“Don’t Tell ‘Em,” featuring YG, was released on June 6, 2014 as the first single from Jeremih’s third studio album (renamed Late Nights: The Album). On January 22, 2015, the second single, “Planez,” featuring J. Cole, was released. On April 21, 2015, the first promotional single “Tonight Belongs to U!” featuring Flo Rida was released.

On October 30, 2015, the third single, “Oui,” was released. The second promotional single, “Royalty,” was released on October 29, 2015, and features Big Sean and Future. In an interview with Billboard on February 7, 2016, Jeremih unveiled the title of his fourth studio album, Later That Night. Apart from his own work, Jeremih has recently collaborated with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, for whom he confirmed he has written.
