He signed a one-year $8 million contract with New Jersey Nets and signed a two-year $24 million contract with the same team.

On June 27th, 2013, he was traded to the Boston Celtics together with Keith Bogans, MarShon Brooks, Kris Joseph, and Gerald Wallace. He was traded to the Washington Wizards after a sign-and-trade and underwent a nerve repair surgery that sidelined him for a couple of games. Late into his career, he was signed to the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers before announcing his retirement on March 26th, 2019.
