Megan Dodds is an American actress who is best known for portraying the role of Kate in the British television sitcom titled Not Going Out in 2006. She has had numerous credits in both British and American TV shows and films. Megan is also a prolific stage actor who won the 2007 London Theatregoers’ Choice Award for “Best Actress” for bringing to life the character of humanitarian aid worker Rachel Corrie in the 2006 theatrical production My Name is Rachel Corrie.

- After graduating from the Juilliard School, Megan acted for 2 years in several Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. She made her Broadway debut with the role of Maria in the play, The School for Scandal at the Lyceum Theatre in New York in 1995.
- In 1997, she left the United States to take up the lead role in British comedian Ben Elton’s play Popcorn. After meeting the photographer and her future husband Oliver Pearce, she decided to stay on in London and continue her acting career in the United Kingdom.

The play opened at the Royal Court Theatre in London and after a successful run in London’s West End, it was planned to be staged in New York. However, it was canceled after rumors that its politically charged content could lead to backlash. Megan actively and vocally opposed the indefinite delay, thus sparking a debate on censorship of politically sensitive issues.
- The debate was further publicized by The New York Times and the play was eventually staged to a sellout audience at the off-Broadway Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City.
