1. She grew up in Tacoma, Washington, United States.
2. In high school, she had very thinly plucked eyebrows and a short haircut. She joked that she “impersonated Lord Farquaad” during that period of her life.

4. By the age of 18, Melissa started performing stand-up comedy at open-mic nights.
