The following, he received a promotion from lieutenant, junior grade, to become a Lieutenant. He worked on different offices before decided to serve in politics.

In 2012, he announced his intention of running for Florida’s 6^th congregational district in the Republic primary. He won with 39% of the vote while Fred Costello received 23%. In November the same year, he won in the general elections with 57% defeating Democratic nominee Heather Beaven. He also received majorities in all four counties.
