1. She spent the first 5 years of her life in Tehran, Iran before relocating to the Netherlands.
2. Sevdaliza considers Rotterdam, Netherlands to be her origin.
3. At the age of 16, Sevdaliza decided to leave her parent’s home and live on her own. She made this decision after having received a scholarship to play basketball. She then went on to play professionally for the Netherlands women’s national basketball team.
4. Sevdaliza managed to pay for her own tuition fees.
5. Her music style has been compared to that of the English trip-hop band Portishead. However, Sevdaliza once stated that she is “not necessarily drawn to a genre” and finds her music to be “pure and raw”. Moreover, she seeks inspiration from womanhood, identity, and motherhood.
6. She released her debut studio album titled ISON on April 26, 2017. The album consisted of a total of 16 tracks, a few which were Shahmaran, Libertine, , Hubris, Amandine Insensible, and Scarlette. It also included a bonus track in the digital reissue that was titled Hear My Pain Heal.
7. In early 2017, Sevdaliza released her first Persian-language track titled Bebin in order to show her uneasiness for the politically labeled ‘Muslim ban’ that was imposed by The President of the United States on January 27, 2017.
8. On August 28, 2020, she released her 2nd studio album titled Shabrang.
9. Sevdaliza is multilingual and can speak in 5 different languages – Persian, Dutch, English, French, and Portuguese.
