Shoma Uno is a Japanese figure skater who has won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the Japan Figure Skating Championships (2016–17, 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20), the 2015 Internationaux de France event, the 2018 GP NHK Trophy, the 2016 GP Skate America championship, the GP Skate Canada International (2017, 2018), the 2019 CS Finlandia Trophy, the CS Lombardia Trophy (2016, 2017, 2018), the 2017 Asian Winter Games, the 2014 Asian Open Trophy, the 2020 International Challenge Cup, the 2014 Egna Spring Trophy, and the 2017 Coupe du Printemps championship. He had also won the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics, the World Figure Skating Championships (2017, 2018), the 2018 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final (2017-18, 2018-19), the Japan Figure Skating Championships (2014–15, 2015–16), the 2017 Internationaux de France event, the 2016 GP Rostelecom Cup, and the 2015 GP Skate America championship. He had stood 3rd at the 2017 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final (2015-16, 2016-17). At the team level, he had won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2012 Youth Olympic Games, the Japan Open (2015, 2016, 2018) and the 2017 ISU World Team Trophy; the ‘Silver medal’ at the Japan Open (2017, 2019) and the 2019 ISU World Team Trophy; and the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2016 Team Challenge Cup. - Although Shoma has won numerous medals at the senior level, he was no less prolific in his junior career having won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2015 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) Final in the 2014-15 season, the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (2014-15) and the 2014 ISU JGP Croatia.
