1. He was 11 years old when he started to learn the bass.
2. It was his brother, Bob, who formed the rock band, The Replacements, which also comprised of musicians such as Paul Westerberg, Chris Mars, Slim Dunlap, and Steve Foley.
3. The Replacements previously went by the name ‘The Impediments’ but they had to change it after they gave a drunken performance, without Tommy Stinson, at a church hall gig in June 1980.
4. With The Replacements, Tommy Stinson released his debut studio album, Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash, on August 25, 1981, via Twin/Tone Records. The album comprised of songs such as I Hate Music, Otto, Takin’ a Ride, Careless, and Love You Till Friday and was reviewed as “one of the best LPs the entire scene produced in the early ’80s” by Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic.
5. He formed the alternative rock band, Bash & Pop, in 1992.
