Treach is an American rapper and actor who is well-known as the co-founder and lead vocalist of the hip hop trio Naughty by Nature. His muscular frame also helped him land several guest and recurring roles in crime films and crime drama shows on television. Treach, as part of the Naughty by Nature group, won the “Best Rap Album” award at the 1996 Grammy awards for the group’s 4th album Poverty’s Paradise.

6. Sandra Denton (1998–2001) – Treach got married to Jamaican-American hip-hop rapper and actress Sandra Denton a.k.a. Pepa in July 1999. The couple has a daughter named Egypt Jahnari Criss (b. September 2, 1998), and were separated in 2001. Sandra made allegations of abuse against Treach in her 2008 memoir Let’s Talk About Pepa. However, Treach denied all such allegations.

Treach Facts

1. He started a hip-hop trio in 1986 with Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee. It was named The New Style and released its first album in 1989 after which the group was mentored by and changed its name to Naughty by Nature. The group won the “Favorite New Artist – Rap / Hip-Hop”  award at the 1992 American Music Awards.
2. In 2000, Treach and Kay Gee had a dispute regarding the group’s finances which led to Kay Gee leaving the group and the trio eventually disbanded in 2002. They reconciled in 2006 and restarted the group’s musical work and concerts.
3. Treach is the godfather of rapper Malicious Jynx’s son.
4. In April 2014, Treach was arrested in Union City, New Jersey for allegedly passing traffic police at the speed of 55 miles/hour in a 25 miles/hour zone. He reportedly attempted to evade the officers by leading them on a high-speed chase and was charged with reckless driving and speeding.
5. During his trial, it was also revealed that there was another pending warrant for his arrest for failing to appear at a child support hearing. He subsequently appeared in a Jersey City court and spent a night in jail before being released on a USD 15k bail.
