1. He was born 3 months premature and had weighed just about 1 pound at the time of his birth. The doctors had told his parents, who had already similarly lost 2 daughters, that he had very little chance of survival. However, his father had a firm belief that he would survive and had decided to name him after legendary boxer .
2. At the amateur level, he had represented Ireland in addition to representing England. This was by virtue of his Irish ancestry with family lineage to relatives in cities like Belfast and Galway. For Ireland, he had won a ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2006 World Junior Championships in the super heavyweight category.
3. When he had beaten in February 2020, he had become just the 3rd heavyweight boxer in history to hold The Ring magazine title twice, and the first heavyweight boxer ever to have held the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring magazine titles.
