Alison’s career kicked of at a very tender age and she was listed in a commercial for Kodak when she was just five years old. In 1984, she was cast in an episode of the series Simon and Simon, she portrayed the character of Lyla. Later the next year she guest starred in the sitcom Webster and the NBC medical drama series St. Elsewhere.

Come 1987, she portrayed the younger version of Dana Anderson’s character in the film The Price of Life. She also had appeared in two episodes of the show Tales from the Dark Side. Alison was also a part of the main cast of the ABC sitcom Family man where she played Rosie Tobin.  She was also cast in another short-lived Comedy Drama show, Brand New Life.
