Bill Nye is an American television presenter, science communicator, and educator. Most people know him as Bill Nye, the Science Guy, which was largely due to his scientific career and a mechanical engineering degree. His rise to fame was credited to a show on KCTS-TV named Bill Nye, the Science Guy that ran from 1993 to 1998, and was the reason he got that nickname. The show was so successful that it won 19 out of 23 Emmy Awards it was nominated for. Bill is also an inventor, most notably known for inventing a hydraulic resonance suppressor tube that Boeing 747 airplanes use. After educational success, he started focusing on his stand-up comedy and TV series where he was commonly a narrator or presenter for topics regarding science.
