Candice Dupree is an American professional basketball player who has represented Chicago Sky (2006-2009), Phoenix Mercury (2010-2016), and Indiana Fever (2017-Present) in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association). In her debut WNBA season (2006), she was named in both the WNBA ‘All-Rookie Team’ and the WNBA ‘All-Star Team’. She repeated the latter feat in 2007, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2019. In 2014, she won the WNBA Championship with Phoenix Mercury. At the international level, she was an integral member of the United States’ squads that won the ‘Gold’ medal at the World University Games (2005), and the FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) World Championship for Women (2010, 2014). During the WNBA off-season, she has represented clubs and teams such as WBC Wisła Kraków (2007–2009) in Poland, Good Angels Košice (2009–2011) in Slovakia, WBC Spartak Moscow Region (2011–2013) in Russia, Dynamo Kursk (2013–2014) in Russia, Zhejiang Golden Bulls (2014–2015) in China, Nadezhda Orenburg (2015) in Russia, ZVVZ USK Praha (2016–2017) in Czechia, and Sopron Basket (2018–2019) in Hungary. With WBC Wisła Kraków, she won the PLKK League Championship in 2008 and was named the series’ MVP (Most Valuable Player). She had also won a national championship Good Angels Košice.

1. Born in Oklahoma, Candice was primarily brought up in Tampa, Florida where her family had relocated. She completed her schooling in that state. In 2002, while representing Wharton High School, she was named the ‘Federal Division and Tampa Tribune Player of the Year’.
2. For her splendid performances in her college career, representing Temple University, she was picked 6th overall in the 1st round of the 2006 WNBA Draft by Chicago Sky.
3. In a rare occurrence, she had competed in the ‘Shooting Stars’ competition in the all-male NBA‘s ‘All-Star Game Weekend’ in both 2007 and 2008. She had represented the Chicago Bulls in both years.
4. In 2009, she was selected in the ‘Rest of the World’ (non-European) squad for the year’s EuroLeague ‘Women All-Star Game’.
