- Koz, in his early career, served as a session musician for several bands and also toured with the famous American keyboardist, composer, and record producer Jeff Lorber.
- In 1990, Koz decided to pursue his own solo career when he started recording for Capitol Records.
- Koz’s debut album is self-titled (Dave Koz) which was released in 1990 and earned him huge praise from a larger audience.
- His other albums are Lucky Man (1993), The Dance (1999), and Saxophonic (2003) where Saxophonic was nominated for both Grammy Award and NAACP Image Award.
