Jhong Hilario is a Filipino actor, singer, politician, and dancer who is best known for his appearance in various films and shows that include Muro Ami (1999), D’ Anothers (2005), Dekada ’70 (2002), Rio Del Mar (1999-2001), Maalaala Mo Kaya: Wedding Cake (2000-2001). Besides that, he is also notably known for being a host and resident judge on the show It’s Showtime. 1. He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1993, after joining Streetboys.
2. In 1996, he made his debut featured film appearance as Nestor in Istokwa.
3. Initially, he had joined It’s Showtime, as a judge in 2012, later, he became the host of the show.
4. On May 9, 2016, Jhong was elected as a member of the Makati City Council under the ticket of Mayor Abi Binay.
5. In 2019, a video clip of raising her voice at Jhong Hilario during It’s Showtime went viral over the internet. Jhong, in turn, reacted hilariously to her comment.
6. His father Virgilio Sr. had served as a councillor for 9 years in the past. Hence, Jhong once stated it was because of his father that he wanted to become a councillor in the First District of Makati.
