Professional Career

John Dolmayan first gained success in 1997 when he became a member of the heavy metal band, System of a Down. As a member of the band, he has been a part of 5 albums including, “System of a Down” (1998), “Steal This Album!” (2002), and “Hypnotize” (2005). The band went on a break in 2006 and reunited in 2010.

The band has only been occasionally touring since 2010. In 2006, he and Daron Malakian formed the band, Scars on Broadway. The band released its debut album, “Scars on Broadway” in 2008. The album captured the 17^th position on the US Billboard 200 charts. He left the band permanently in 2012. He is also the founding member of the band, Indicator.

Apart from his work as a member of System of a Down and Scars on Broadway, he has worked with other artists as well.
