Juan Soto is a Dominican professional baseball player who has represented the Washington Nationals in the Major League Baseball (MLB). He had been signed up by the team as an international free agent in July 2015 and had made his MLB debut in May 2018. The following year, in 2019, his 2nd season with the team, he was named in the All-MLB Second Team (2019) and was an integral member of the squad that had won the World Series championship, the first-ever in the franchise’s history. While he was signed up as a free agent with the Washington Nationals, he had made his professional debut in 2016 with the Gulf Coast League Nationals in the Gulf Coast League and was named the league’s ‘Most Valuable Player’ in his debut season after averaging .368 with 5 home runs and 32 runs batted in (RBIs). In September 2016, he had represented the Auburn Doubledays in the last 6 games of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League season and had averaged .429. In 2017, he had scored at an average of .360 with 3 home runs in 23 games in an injury-ravaged season for the Hagerstown Suns in the Class A South Atlantic League. In 2018, he had played for the Hagerstown Suns (.373 in 16 games with 5 home runs and 24 RBIs), the Potomac Nationals (.371 in 15 games with 7 home runs and 18 RBIs) in the Class A-Advanced Carolina League, and the Harrisburg Senators (.323 in 8 games with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs) in the Class AA Eastern League before getting a call from the Washington Nationals for playing in the MLB.
