- During his school years, Kim Bodnia was greatly inclined towards athletics and wanted to become a football goalkeeper. However, he had to change his plans after he suffered a foot injury.
- He appeared as Jørgen Buhl in the 2008 crime film, Terribly Happy, for which he bagged the 62nd Bodil Award for “Best Actor in a Supporting Role”.
- From 2011 to 2013, he brought to life the character of Martin Rohde, the lead homicide detective in Copenhagen, in the Nordic noir crime television series, The Bridge (Broen|Bron), starring alongside and Thure Lindhardt.
