• The popularity of his studio album, Many More Roads, which was nominated for the Grammy Awards for the best reggae album. However, he ultimately lost to his half-brother Damian Marley’s album, Halfway Tree.
• The commercial success of his studio album, Radio. The album managed to reach the very top of the Billboard Reggae Charts in October 2007.

In August 1996, he released his first studio album, Like Father Like Son. He covered some of his father’s songs such as No Woman, No Cry in the album.

1. He spent his early childhood in the poor neighborhood of Falmouth, Jamaica. He and his mother didn’t get financial support from his famous father.
2. After Bob Marley’s death, he didn’t receive any financial help from his father’s estate until he had turned 18.
3. At the age of 9, he and his mother moved to Miami. In Miami, they lived in the crime-ridden neighborhood, where he used to watch people getting shot from his window.
4. While he was studying in middle school, he started peddling drugs.
5. While growing up, he didn’t have much interest in music and his first love was sports. Under his mother’s influence, he eventually got enrolled in guitar and piano classes.
6. While studying in high school, he used to play trumpet in his school’s band. He also competed in American football and soccer.
7. He started deejaying and rapping in his teens. His first single was Unnecessary Badness.
8. He got interested in singing after he was asked to sing a hook during a recording session in a Miami-based studio.
9. Early in his singing career, he often experimented with laying tracks. He also used to work with his brothers Damian, Julian, and Stephen.
10. In April 2010, he published his biographical book,  In the book, he talked about his struggle. After the release of the book, he was locked in a dispute with the publishers for using provocative subheading, The Story the Marley Family Apparently Doesn’t Want You to Know. He termed it a malicious act.
11. He has established his non-profit organization, Love Over All Foundation (LOAF). Through the organization, he aims to improve the condition of school children in his hometown of Falmouth.
