Lucas was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2003 NBA Draft. He was a reserve player but was a very favorite of the fans. 2006-07 turned out to be the best year for Lucas when he scored a career high25 points against the Atlanta Hawks and also posted career-high per-game averages in minutes, field goal percentages, steals, blocks, rebounds, assists and points playing as a center-forward.

After that, he was signed by the Lakers to a six-year contract deal amounting $30 million. The Lakers then made three straight finals, winning the last two consecutively with Lucas also being a part of the team. In 2012, he was traded to ‘Cleveland Cavaliers’.
