Mahima Chaudhry is an Indian actress, TV personality, and former model, best known for her debut acting role of Kusum Ganga in a movie Pardes (1997), for which she won a Filmfare Award and Zee Cine Award for “Best Female Debut” in 1998. Mahima then proceeded to appear in commercially successful movies such as Dil Kya Kare (1999) as Kavita Kishore, Daag: The Fire (1999) as Kajal Verma/Kajri, Dhadkan (2000) as Sheetal Varma, Kurukshetra (2000) as Anjali P. Singh, Lajja (2001) as Maithili, Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002), as Nimmi, and Baghban (2003) as Arpita Alok Malhotra. Leander Paes (2004-2005) – In the past, she was in a relationship with tennis player Leander Paes, who she broke up with because of his affair with model Rhea Pillai, who was even married at the time. Leander even moved in together with Rhea in 2005 which further insulted Mahima’s image. When asked about it at a later date, Mahima stated: “He may be a good tennis player, but he didn’t play fair with me.”
2. Bobby Mukherji (2006-2013) – In 2005, Mahima found herself bored with her routine as an actress. After she wrapped up the shooting for Hope and a Little Sugar (2006), which was filmed part in India and part in the United States, she went to the salon to cut her hair very short to prepare for the next role. While in New York City, New York, United States, she met Bobby, who was an architect businessman. They got married in 2006, and have a daughter named Ariana. Even though there were rumors back in 2011 that they were staying separately because of incompatibility, it wasn’t until 2013 that they officially separated but not divorced. She added: “I don’t have the time. On a serious note, we haven’t really given it a thought as it isn’t bothering us. I will go in for a divorce if I plan to get married again”.

1. Her dad wasn’t a strict person, and would often willingly throw in an extra note or two. Her mom, on the other hand, was a disciplinarian and would give her the exact amount of money needed, which is why she’d always hoped her dad would drop her off to school.

4. When it came time to choose her name, Ritu first wanted to be named Riddhima, after one of her cousins. However, Subhash suggested her name start with the letter ‘M’ just like other actresses, so Ritu chose the name, ‘Mahima Chaudhary,’ after Riddhima’s younger sister, and later shortened it to ‘Mahima Chaudhry’.
