Ilana CasspiOmri Casspi is an Israeli professional basketball player, social activist, and TV personality, known for being one of the best players at the power forward and small forward positions. Between 2005 and 2009, he played for the Maccabi Tel Aviv and garnered prestigious awards such as winning the Israeli State Cup in 2006 and being a 2-times champion in the Israeli Super League in 2006 and 2009. In 2008, Omri was also named Israeli Super League 6th Man of the Year, and the next year received a prestigious Israeli Super League Quintet Award. Omri was chosen for the 2009 NBA draft in Round 1 with the 23rd overall pick by the Sacramento Kings, and played for them between 2009 and 2011, and then between 2014 and 2017.
Omri is also known for playing for NBA clubs such as Cleveland Cavaliers (2011-2013), Houston Rockets (2013-2014), New Orleans Pelicans (2017), and Minnesota Timberwolves (2017). In 2017 he was signed to Golden State Warriors and stayed there until April 7, 2018, after he suffered an injury and was waived to make a place for Quinn Cook. He was then signed to Memphis Grizzlies on July 11, 2018, but suffered an unfortunate meniscus tear in his right knee and was waived by the club on February 7, 2019, and forced to await surgery.
