Patrice Evra is a French soccer coach and former professional soccer player who played primarily as a defender for major European clubs such as AS Monaco, Manchester United, Juventus FC, and Olympique Marseille, and was widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the sport during his playing days. With AS Monaco, he won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2002–03 and was runner-up at the 2004 UEFA Champions League. His performances attracted the attention of English giants Manchester United whom he joined in 2006 and won a string of major trophies with – 5 Premier League titles (2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2010–11, 2012–13), 3 League Cup titles (2005–06, 2008–09, 2009–10), 5 FA Community Shields (2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013), a UEFA Champions League title (2007–08), and the FIFA Club World Cup championship in 2008. He joined Italian club Juventus FC in 2014 with whom he had another spell of success winning the Serie A title twice (2014–15, 2015–16), the Coppa Italia championship twice (2014–15, 2015–16), and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2015. At the international level, he had represented France and had finished runner-up at the 2016 UEFA European Championships. Patrice retired from professional soccer in July 2019 and in September 2019, he returned to Manchester United as a trainee coach at the club’s academy.

- Born in Senegal, Patrice’s family relocated to Europe when he was just 1 year old. His father’s work as a diplomat had taken them to Brussels from where they moved to France a couple of years later.
