  1. He started his career as a collegiate for the Connecticut Huskies where he played for 3 seasons. From there, he built his reputation and became known for his impressive playing style being an efficient and deadly long-range shooter.
  2. In 2007, Allen was traded to Bolton Celtics. During his time with the Celtics, he and his teammates and Paul Pierce formed a group called “Big Three” which brought the team an immediate success after they won the NBA championship in 2008. Allen played with the Celtics for 5 seasons before exiting to join the Miami Heat for 2 seasons.
  3. Allen’s clutch three-pointer to tie Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals with only 5.2 seconds gap has been regarded as one of the most memorable and heart-pounding plays in NBA history.
  4. He has an impressive compilation of awards and achievements. During his reign, he gained 10 NBA All-Star designations, won an Olympic gold medal as part of the 2000 United States men’s basketball team, and has held NBA records in career three-point field goals achieved in both regular and postseason.

  7. Amidst comeback possibilities during the 2014-15 season, Allen officially retired on November 1, 2016.
  8. On March 27, 2018, Allen released his autobiography titled From the Outside.
  9. In February 2019, he played in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
  10. He admitted that he has a borderline case of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
  11. He served as the NBA Spokesperson for the Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA program. Allen was also chosen as the NBA Spokesman for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
  12. Allen has created the Ray of Hope Foundation to help charities in various communities.
