Robert Trujillo is an American musician and songwriter who is best known for being the former member of the crossover thrash band, Suicidal Tendencies and a current member and bassist for the popular American heavy metal band, Metallica. For a long period, he was also a part of Ozzy Osbourne’s band and also a member of the funk metal supergroup called Infectious Grooves. He has a huge social media fan base with more than 500k followers on Instagram and more than 200k followers on Twitter.

As a member of the band Suicidal Tendencies, Robert released his first studio album titled Lights…Camera…Revolution! in 1990. The album was declared ‘gold’ by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
With the band Metallica, he released his first album titled St. Anger in June 2003.

- He was first introduced to music by his mother who was a huge fan of Motown, and specifically musicians like Marvin Gaye, James Brown, and Sly and the Family Stone.
- He started playing in backyard party bands while he was in school mainly the music by artists such as Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Rush, and Led Zeppelin.
- His love for jazz led him to attend jazz school at the age of 19.
- He intended to become a studio musician while also maintaining an interest in rock and metal.
- In the late 1980s, he joined the California crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, replacing their former bassist Bob Heathcote.
