- Perez is known to have a troubled childhood due to physical, mental and sexual abuse.
- Rosie’s parents were in relationships with other people, before meeting each other and welcoming Perez in this world. Their troubled alliance and an array of children, made her paternal aunt take care of Rosie in her initial years.
- Keeping dancing as her stress buster activity, she would often go to nightclubs while in college, that was the time when she got opportunities to work for Soul Train & Do The Right Thing.
- The talented actress was even nominated for Oscars and Golden Globe for her outstanding performance in Fearless (1993).
