First Album

He released his debut album The Clan Pt. 2.5: The Final Chapter as a part of Monsta X in March 2017. The album was a huge success and peaked at number 2 spot on the Korean music charts. It also made a name overseas by peaking at the number 1 spot on the US Billboard World Music chart.

1. Before Starship Entertainment, he had auditioned for JYP Entertainment and stood 2nd.
2. Shownu was a former JYP Entertainment’s trainee for 2 years but had to leave due to his absence at the training sessions.
3. Before getting selected for Starship Entertainment, he was working as a backup dancer and said that he did not mind doing that.
4. One of his friends told him about the Starship Entertainment audition and he decided to give it a try and passed the auditions.
5. He was included in a project group known as Nu Boyz also including #GUN, Jooheon, and Wonho.
6. Although he is the leader of his group, he is humble and never shows off his leadership.
