Stephen Philip Jones was born in Shepherd’s Bush, London, on 3 September 1955. His parents were Don Jarvis, a professional boxer, and his mother, Mary Jones, a hairdresser. Steve was an only child, and his mother raised him after his father left when Steve was only two years old. He lived with his grandparents and mother until he was twelve years old when they moved in with his mother and step-father.

His childhood was hectic, and by 1968 Jones had already had a criminal record and had spent one and a half years in reform school. At age eighteen, he escaped by whiskers ending up in jail.

Jones and Sex Pistols band, where Jones was a vocalist. A few years later, the band split up, which led to Jones getting into heroin addiction.
