1. While in college, Summer was a member of a National Panhellenic sorority called the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
2. For 3 years, starting from 2008 till 2011, she played in the Legends Football League, initially called Lingerie Football League, as a quarterback and the team captain of the team Chicago Bliss.
3. She played her last game in the Legends Football League on June 30, 2011.
4. On December 18, 2011, she made her official debut in the developmental territory of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) that runs by the name of Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).
5. Summer was also seen as a ring announcer for FCW TV for many months.
6. It was after starting her professional wrestling career with FCW that she changed her stage name from her original name to Summer Rae.
