When he graduated from the University he started working for Apple spinoff general magic for three years working with Matsushita, Philips, Toshiba and Sony and several other consumer electronics firms which are in the General magic alliance where he developed personal handheld communicators.

He was hired by Philips in 1995 where he cofounded their mobile computing group and served as the director of engineering and the chief technology officer. He also developed several windows CE-based handheld services, this are such as Nino PDA and Phillips velo. He was promoted to being the vice president of Philips ventures and strategy where he was responsible for developing Philips digital audio strategy that involved technology direction for software and silicon and also in its potential business models and investment portfolio.

Tony decided to start his own company in 1999 called fuse to develop “dell of the consumer electronic”. He had intended to develop a small hard disk-based music player and an online store for music but he failed to achieve his vision.  He started looking for funding and this led him to work for RealNetworks in 2000 and just after six weeks of working there he left.

His idea was funded by Apple which the business idea of an online music store and MP3 player. Apple hired Tony in 2001 as their contractor planning Apple’s audio product strategy and designing IPod. Then in April 2001, Tony was hired by Apple to run and assemble its iPod & special projects, he was in charge of overseeing the production and design of the iSight and iPod devices.

Tony co-founded Nest labs in May 2010 which launched its first product “Nest Learning Thermostat” in October 2011. Then he was hired by Google in October 2014 for $3.2 billion. Then in 2016, Tony resigned from Google.
