1. She was brought up in Leuven and is the second daughter born to her parents Liliane and Guido.
2. Elise had a knack for learning to speak in various languages ever-since her younger days. She can now talk in Dutch/Flemish, English, and French.
3. It was her older sister Lauran, an airline pilot who introduced Elise to tennis when she was just 4 years old.
4. Elise looked up to former tennis player Justine Henin and professional tennis player Kim Clijsters.
5. She started training at the Kim Clijsters Academy in 2015. She was 20 years old at the time.
6. Her father would make furniture for churches, whereas her mother was a teacher.
