He has recalled that he used to receive constant encouragement and motivation from his father in his childhood who had encouraged him to take up classical singing at the tender age of three and a half. He has gone on to add that his father’s uncle Professor Gurmukh Singh Sehgal being a classical singer himself who used to support him constantly, was a huge source of motivation for him, and it was under him that he received his training for Hindustani classical music.
